Reiki and Pregnancy

Here is a testimonial from a client I supported with Reiki through the stages of her IVF, pregnancy, and after birth. I am truly grateful for my part in this journey, it was special for us both.

“During pregnancy I embarked on a reiki journey guided by Romana that supported my pregnancy immensely and that ultimately transformed me.

I first started receiving reiki from Romana when I was undergoing an IVF treatment because friends had recommended it as a fertility booster. Given how stressful it is to undergo IVF, I found the relaxation, clarity and calm I felt after each session with Romana to be invaluable for this tense period. When the IVF was successful, I decided to keep receiving reiki throughout the entire pregnancy. My sessions with her improved my sleep, mood and mental clarity and generally helped with all the aches and pains that come with each new phase of pregnancy. They also gave me a deep sense of presence and calm each time. I found receiving reiki to be such a powerful experience that I wanted to learn how to do it myself.

During my sixth month of pregnancy, I took a reiki level 1 course with Romana. She’s an excellent, experienced teacher and her course gave me a new skill set for self-care. While you also learn how to give reiki to others, I personally benefited the most during pregnancy from learning how to do self-healing reiki treatments. As I dealt with dramatic hormone shifts, a quickly changing body that often felt foreign to me, and the sensation of sharing my body with a new life, the ability to sit down and give my body focused healing energy centered me each time I did it. It helped me get through the pregnancy with acceptance and presence. (And I even did reiki on myself during early labor!) I’ve continued to see Romana, too, for the big hits of powerful reiki. And now that my son is born, I’ve been giving him reiki, too, and it helps get him to sleep!”
